Behind every record-breaking LED display — from the world's largest virtual production stage to the iconic spherical screen at Bangkok’s Siam Paragon — there's a common thread: Colorlight’s display control technology.
But what makes Colorlight the partner of choice for the industry's most ambitious projects? The answer lies in our technology DNA — a decade-plus of relentless R&D, deep expertise in video processing algorithms, FPGA architecture mastery, and now, AI-driven innovation.
This is the story of how Colorlight became a global leader in LED display control — and why we’re just getting started.
Colorlight was founded in 2012 as a high-tech company specializing in video and imaging solutions. From day one, our core philosophy was clear: combine advanced video processing algorithms with dedicated hardware to deliver professional-grade display control products.
While many companies in the LED space focus on manufacturing panels or cabinets, Colorlight focused on something different — the intelligence behind the display. We understood that a brilliant LED wall is only as good as the brain controlling it. That's why we built our entire company around video processing algorithms, signal control, communications, and FPGA chip design.
Today, our product portfolio spans LED control systems, video processors, ColorlightCloud players, media servers, and calibration systems — all built on this algorithmic foundation.
If algorithms are the soul of Colorlight’s technology, FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) architecture is the body that brings them to life.
Unlike generic processors that rely on fixed-function chips, Colorlight’s video processors are built on high-performance FPGA hardware architectures. This gives us several critical advantages:
· Uncompressed high frame rate processing— Our algorithms accurately restore video color while ensuring the smoothness of high-speed motion pictures.
· Ultra-low latency— Sub-frame latency (under 16.67ms) is essential for live events and camera-facing applications.
· Exceptional reliability— FPGA architecture provides a secure and stable software system with unparalleled reliability.
· Massive load capacity— Flagship processors like the U15Max deliver up to 520 million pixels from a single unit, built on the same FPGA foundation.
This FPGA-first approach means Colorlight processors aren’t just powerful — they’re purpose-built for the unique demands of LED display control, from fine-pitch indoor walls to massive outdoor creative installations.
As LED displays grow larger and resolutions climb toward 8K and beyond, bandwidth becomes the bottleneck. Colorlight anticipated this challenge and developed industry-leading 5G transmission technology.
Our 5G solution delivers up to five times the load capacity of conventional 1G Ethernet ports. A single cable can now support what previously required five — dramatically simplifying cabling while maintaining stable, high-quality video transmission.
At InfoComm USA 2026, we showcased a 5G transmission solution supporting 12-bit color depth and ultra-high loading capacity of up to 960 × 540 pixels per port — purpose-built for demanding applications like fine-pitch displays, creative installations, XR virtual production, and broadcast studios. This is 5G+8K in action: end-to-end workflows featuring ultra-low latency, massive bandwidth, and exceptional image quality from source to screen.
The most significant evolution in our technology DNA is the integration of artificial intelligence into every layer of display control.
Starting in 2025, Colorlight began advancing a full-stack AI ecosystem covering computing power, chips, applications, and hardware. This isn't just about adding AI features — it’s about fundamentally rethinking what display control can do:
· AI Super-Resolution— Deep learning algorithms upscale low-quality video to UHD, delivering sharper, more detailed visuals.
· AI MEMC— Motion estimation and compensation eliminate judder and motion blur for smoother playback.
· AI screen adjustment— Automated calibration and optimization for efficient device installation and maintenance.
· AI-powered processors— Next-generation video splicers like the U6 Max integrate AI computing modules for real-time image optimization, scene-adaptive tuning, and anomaly detection.
Our LEDOS system — the industry's first operating system designed specifically for LED screens — deeply integrates AI algorithms to enhance image quality across the board. We’re also introducing AI into distributed systems, MLED calibration, and intelligent meeting solutions.
This AI transformation is backed by Shenzhen Luoshu Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., our subsidiary focused on AI computing infrastructure. Together with top-tier AI and chip scientists, we're building the next generation of intelligent display control.
